Caramel Popcorn Twists

Christmas Yummy's

This is an amazing treat to have during the holidays. I was introduced to it over the weekend and thought I just had to share it with you guys. It isn't overly sweet like most items like this, and it just melts in your mouth. Trust me when you taste it you will wish you had like 20 batches already made, its just that good. It is also very easy to make and is very inexpensive.

The ingredients and directions are as follows:

• 1/2 lb butter (do not substitute margarine)
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup corn syrup
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 (175 g) bag popcorn , twists

Directions:

1. 1Prehead oven to 250°F.
2. 2Place entire bag of popcorn twists into a large roaster.
3. 3In a Large (2 qt) sauce pan, cook together butter, brown sugar and corn syrup for 2 minutes after butter has melted and it starts to gently boil.
4. 4Add baking soda to mixture. This will cause mixture to foam - that is why you need a large saucepaan.
5. 5Allow to foam to cook down slightly.
6. 6Pour caramel mixture over popcorn twists and stir until mixed.
7. 7Place in oven for 35-45 minutes, (35 for chewy corn, 45 for crunchy), stirring at least every 10-15 minutes.
8. 8remove from oven and pour on wax paper.
9. 9Allow to cool slightly and break apart.

Peppermint Brittle

Yummy Peppermint Brittle

Here is another great recipe that is cheap to make and very yummy. Peppermint brittle doesn't get much easier than this. All you need is 2 ingredients and a couple minutes and you too will have this wonderful treat for you and your company this holiday season.

I love this stuff. It is wonderful. It will for sure be a crowd pleaser this year at your table. Make everyone happy with these great peppermint brittles.

Here is how you make it.

Ingredients

• 2 pounds white chocolate
• 30 small peppermint candy canes

Directions

1. Line a large jellyroll pan with heavy-duty foil.
2. Place white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in microwave on medium setting for 5 to 6 minutes. Stir occasionally, until chocolate is melted and smooth.
3. Place candy canes in a plastic bag, or between two pieces of waxed paper. Using a mallet or rolling pin, break the candy canes into chunks. Stir peppermint into melted white chocolate. Spread evenly in pan, and chill until set, about 1 hour. Break into pieces by slamming pan on counter.

There you have it, another great recipe to make at Christmas. You not only are pinching pennies with this one, you are pleasing everyone that tries it.

Newer Cell Phones Vs Older Cell Phones

 The newer vs older cell phones should be hard to compare, but in fact it is a proven fact, by me that there are pros and cons of both. The newer cell phones of course allow you to do almost anything and everything from downloading apps that allow you to do anything from gauging the speed of your vehicle to playing games or checking your weather and accessing all your favorite sites online. Amazing how far technology has come but the older cell phones still pull a little weight in the areas of better signal strength, and better clarity of sound, and better battery life. All major things when owning a cell phone. The reason it is so good on an older phone in my eyes is cause of the fact the energy wasn't wasted on the bells and whistles back then, as it is now. Now its more focussed on what it does than how it sounds. Its true when you really think about it.
